For a month in early spring, this small plant bears blue, red, white, or pink daisy-like 2-inch-wide flowers, depending on the cultivar. The leaves are finely divided. For best impact, plant in large groups.

Care
Keep soil moist, but not wet, when plant is growing; allow soil to dry in summer, when it is dormant. Mulch in zones 4 thrugh 7.

Soak tubers overnight in warm water, then plant in full sun to light shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Plant in holes 3 inches deep and spaced 4 to 6 inches apart. Plant in fall in zone 6 and warmer; otherwise, plant in spring.
