Balsamic Salsa


Ingredients:

• 1 loaf French bread
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• Dried Italian seasoning
• 4 or 5 plum tomatoes
• 1 small red onion
• 1 package fresh basil
• 1 cup balsamic vinegar
• 1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard Pepper to taste

Method:

Preheat oven to 350F. Cut bread into thin slices; place on baking sheet. Brush top side with melted butter; sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Toast bread; turn bread and apply butter and seasoning to second side. Bake till bread is light brown. While bread is toasting, dice tomatoes, mince the onion, and chop basil; mix in bowl. Add vinegar, mustard, and pepper. Mix and refrigerate till ready to serve salsa with the toasted bread.
