Creating a Budget for Your Garden

Creating a Budget for Your Garden

My name is Allen Watts from Anything Grows, a store for gardeners in Stratford, Ontario. On behalf of expertvillage.com, I would like to speak to you about new tips for new gardeners and looking at garden design. Our previously clip was about making a plan and today about coming up with a budget. You may have a grand plan now or you may have created a grand plan but whether you can afford that, is perhaps another issue. If you are a do it your selfer, that saves a lot of money and it is also something once you have a budget, perhaps you don't want to have everything implemented in 1 year anyway so you could design your plan and then budget for 1 project a year. That would be one way of still accomplishing the overall plan but in affordable means to keep it in budget for yourself. Gardening is not inexpensive and if you are a plants person that likes to have the latest, greatest, newest, you are going to be paying a lot more for those trendy new plants. If you are an old fashioned gardener, those plants can tend to be a bit less expensive, more available, different approaches for different people. It is important to have an idea of the pricing and if you have been making notes when you have been visiting the garden centers, one important part of the notes would be to record pricing of things so putting together this budget becomes more realistic and how many things you want to incorporate into your budget; furnishings, decorative elements, statuary bird baths, that kind of thing. It is good to price that all in so that you know at the outset what is your end costs would be.
