Mexican feather grass's silky flowerheads give it a fine, airy texture; they bloom in June, gradually changing from light green to golden tan as they mature. The leaves are extremely narrow and bright green, forming a dense clump 18 inches tall and wide. It is perennial in Zones 7 through 10, but is gaining popularity as an annual in cooler zones.
Care
Allow soil to dry out between waterings. Do not divide. It can reseed and become weedy under ideal conditions.
Planting
Plant container-grown plants in spring or fall in full sun to ligft shade in very well-drained soil. You can also grow it from seed.
